Sophie Alda Large Jug in pattern

690

Sophie Alda is an artist who explores the relationship between the functional and the beautiful. She approaches objects with a dose of humor and strives to create new artistic and utilitarian narratives. All dishes and sculptures are created by hand in her studio in Bristol (UK), and then painted and glazed.

When asked what made her passion for ceramics so great, the artist responds in an interview: “Clay has a certain immediacy about it…. It’s easy to create ceramic objects and sculptures, but developing the skills to make them can be extremely difficult” (Meet the Makers: London Clay Collective).

At Nomad.Warsaw you will find her playful yet thoughtful design.
